I ended up wondering to myself about what makes a classic a classic. I’ll be researching that more today and starting my own piece about that for my bookish Substack. Specifically it was to do with Titus Groan and Gormenghast. I want to include them in my top ten, but are the classics or otherwise? Let me know if you have thoughts.
